We are Committed to Using Feed Efficiency to Tackle the Triple Challenge
We are doing this through out ongoing selection for feed efficiency. We have tested our bulls for feed efficiency for 11 years, with 5 of those years being on-farm using our own Feed Intake System. Retaining several high efficiency sires in our program has allowed us to significantly improve the feed to gain of our cattle on feed, ultimately reducing input costs and producing more beef using the same land base.
Residual feed intake (RFI), plays a central tole in our breeding program. We us RFI, in combination with other profitability-related traits, to improve our herd’s efficiency, profitability and sustainability.
